MINORITY BUSINESS ENTERPRISE OR MBE A small, for-profit business certified by a recognized certifying agency, that is:
- A sole proprietorship owned and controlled by a socially and economically disadvantaged minority person; or
- A partnership or limited liability partnership controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged minority persons in which at least 51% of the beneficial ownership interest is held by socially and economically disadvantaged minority persons; or
- A corporation or limited liability corporation controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged minority persons in which at least 51% of the interest in such corporation or entity are beneficially owned by socially and economically disadvantaged minority persons.
MINORITY PERSON ELIGIBILITY A person who is Black or African-American, American Indian or Alaska Native, Asian, and Hispanic.
WOMAN BUSINESS ENTERPRISE OR WBE A small, for-profit business certified by a recognized certifying agency, that is:
- A sole proprietorship, owned and controlled by a socially and economically disadvantaged woman; or
- A partnership or limited liability partnership controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged women in which at least 51% of the beneficial ownership interest is held by socially and economically disadvantaged women; or
- A corporation or limited liability corporation controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged women in which at least 51% of the interest in such corporation or entity is beneficially owned by socially and economically disadvantaged women.
DISABLED BUSINESS ENTERPRISE OR DSBE. A small, for-profit business certified by a recognized certifying agency, that is:
- A sole proprietorship, owned and controlled by a socially and economically disadvantaged disabled person; or
- A partnership or limited liability partnership controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged disabled persons in which at least 51% of the beneficial ownership interest is held by socially and economically disadvantaged disabled persons; or
- A corporation or limited liability corporation controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged disabled persons in which at least 51% of the interest in such corporation or entity is beneficially owned by socially and economically disadvantaged disabled persons.
DISABLED PERSON ELIGIBILITY A person who has been diagnosed by a doctor as having a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more of his or her major life activities.
